Suede is a type of leather with a napped finish, commonly used for jackets, shoes, shirts, purses, furniture and other items. The term comes from the French "gants de Suède", which literally means "gloves from Sweden". Suede is made from the underside of the animal skin, which is softer and more pliable than, though not as durable as, the outer skin layer. Supple, textured and rustic, suede is a fantastic material to pair with a vintage watch with a nice dial full of patina.
Suede has a very soft and velvet like finish, that gives a really nice fit to your wrist. Suede watch straps work well with glossy dials but can also work well if you choose to go for a ton sur ton color match between the dial and strap of your watch.
The top side is made from a suede leather that has a wonderful vintage look to it, the bottom side is an Italian calf leather. The straps are hand stitched with a waxed thread.
Jean Paul Menicucci watch straps are well known for their simple layout combined with the very best materials. In order to produce this watch band, every watch band undergoes various manual operations, such as cutting, stitching, sanding, painting, polishing etc. which result in a superior final product.
At WRIST ICONS you can get your favorite colors of the suede strap. This strap is an easy going strap which matches perfectly with dials with a lot of patina and tritium hour markers.
